Im probably setting myself up for a flaming here, but has anyone ever ratted a Z

You know rust n matt black everywhere :D

I intend to get myself a Z in the very near future, i just thought that i could get a cosmetically challenged one (thats mechanically sound) and go nuts on it.

What do you guys think?

Oh good God! The very worst in modifications. It is worse than blinged up chrome wheels. The rat look is the very worst and most pathetic look IMO....most agree. Why make a nice car look shit? Completely and utterly pointless.

It's crap in the dub scene and even worse everywhere else.

Don't even try to sand the bonnet and wait for it to go Rusty....you'll be waiting forever!

Cable ties, rust and dents are definitely NOT cool.

No. Cause the rat crowd think they are above cool....which is what makes it so awful.

Also, going against cool to look shit?

Guys im all for a gorgeous finished Z with lovely paintwork, but the point is i doubt ill be able to afford that.

Agreed that most rat cars look crap, and to do it to be different is just stupid. But i like the fact, it still stands out a bit and its less hassle, if someone bumps your car in a carpark, so what. If the paintwork gets scratched, so what, you can lean on it without worrying about damaging it.

Tbh the look i go for is just a rusty pannel, like the bonnet and boot or something, i am quite against destroying perfectly good cars, but when its a removable pannel its different, and if the cars shot anyway, why not

You don't need much money to buy a straight Z. Why buy a shit one?

I dare you to try and get the bonnet to go rusty by sanding.

Yeah i suppose, ive been watching the market, seen some lovely tidy ones going for as little as £1400, but if i can get one for say £1000, i might consider it.

Ive done a bonnet before with an orbital sander, had to rub lemon juice and bleach in it to get it lovely and uniform.

Unless theres something special about these bonnets? Are they plastic or something :D

I can't work out what goes through someones head when they want to do that. Make something look shit! They did that with Michael Jackson's face and everyone took the piss out of him!

They are aluminium! You'll never get it to rust THANK FOOK!

Damn, my plan foiled, ok, ill leave the bonnet alone.

Still, a shiny brushed ally finish also appeals to me ;)
