if you can find one, the 150bhp pug406 petrol turbo exec, nice fast car, with the reliability of a taxi, plus you get leather seats, windows that do up when you remote lock the car, good a/c, not bad on fuel (i had a constant 30mpg out of mine regardless of how i drove it) big boot space, and the ability to fit 4 fully grown ruby mates in the back, one in the front, and a shit load of DJing equipment in the boot.

And if anything goes wrong with it, you can PM me and ill tell you how to fix it lol

Sporty 4 door for under 3k.....I would'nt even consider a ford or vauxhall

Bmw 3 series, 5 series, Audi A4, MkIV Golf - All vastly superior and in price range.

or maybe an Evo or a Legacy if you wanted to go Jap.

you are not getting a lotus carlton for £3k ever. i would never have a vectra again after mine. i would maybe go for accord type R, bmw 3 or 5, audi A4, i have an audi A6 avant they really are great cars i think they come in A4 too but are estates

That era of Mondeo is th ugliest. Looks like a potato. Give me the Vectra any day....despite it being a Vectra.

I'd probably go for a Mitsubishi Galant/Legnum VR4. Some do pop up for around the 3K mark

Or how about a sporty jap luxo barge.

Yeah, that's the sport model, same as the one I posted. They have those really nice wheels which do wonders for the overall look.

maby not, but a gsi carlton with lotus kit is within the budget..

bit too old skwl for a trusty family wagon though i supose..

Unless you find a mint GSi, I'd not bother with a Carlton. Too old-hat now. If you wanted something from that ilk, then an Omega MV6 is the best route to go for.

Vauxhall always knew how to build good RWD cars. Senator, Carlton, and the Omega were all good and the press liked them.

strange, ive just been searching for an MV6 omega, really nice comfortable motors

http://pistonheads.com/sales/1565729.htm

Yup, very nice to drive. Still look reasonably modern and are loaded with toys....they are now the price of a NA Z! 1500 will buy you an 8 year old one and if you're lucky, the odd Irmscher kitted one will pop up for not much more. These were some 35k new.

The one above is over priced, but looks ok. The wheels don't suit it at all. Need big chunky 5 spokes for these cars.

my uncles (twins) have had omega's for years, best thing was when his mate at work said it just cost £400 to have his timing belt done on his audi A4 and my uncle had done his and it cost him £12 and he done it himself in about 30 mins lol

parts for vauxhalls are dirt cheap, ive been looking for a salvage omega diesel estate for me dad, if its cheap enough i will treat him
