Would a fiat punto turbo, supposedly done up to the nines. beat a 300zx twin turbo? i know its lighter. but from what I've seen so far. the top BHP for the punto is around 450BHP at stage 2 obviously weight is going to play a major factor too on this one.

Dont know, depends on if he can get the power down in the punto, gearing, etc etc. But would think it should eat most 300's

TBH mate, an Astra VXR in stock trim would give a stock Z32 TT a run for its money. So a mildly tuned Punto Turbo...even with 200bhp should easily keep up with the Z32 TT up to about 50.

Well not sure if the guys estimates are pub talk tbh, he still has standard alloys on it lol

saw a clip of 5th gear the other day with a nissan pulsar tub running 400hp beat a dodge viper from what looked like a standing quarter

I think we're talking acceleration and performance here, not handling.

im not sure that 9 second zed in the youtube video i posted, seemed damn quick, and it didn't look like the 300 cared to much about it being over weight lol

qauter mile the punto if it grips will have it, but top speed and i think the zed will nail it past a certain point

In a rolling start from about 40mph on a dual carriageway he couldn't pull ahead of me - and my old SLK was just the 230 kompressor!!! My current 350SLK would easily stuff a VXR and I don't think the Z would do badly either......

 

But a for the original question - a 450bhp Punto would probably waste a lot of supercars; let alone a ZX......:whistling:

my clk 230 kompressor is quicker than my zed but the auto box in the merc is alot moe refined and changes gears alot better, think it would be close when i manualize my zed!! merc handles like a bag of shit on a ice ring though! :wink:

IF the punto has that much at the wheels then it would be hard to say:wacko: as its a whole lot of power with no traction! to get a good pull away u would need giant haystacks sitting on the bonnet :lol:

Really?! aint no way a CLK Komp should be as quick as a Zed?! Or is your zed a NA with a misfire?! :tt2:

450 out of a front wheel drive car is nuts, I had a corsa with a 2.0ltr turbo motor in it with around 240bhp and it would spin up on the spot if you set off fast, but when it caught grip it was really quick, and the right gearbox 170mph.
