not sure that part number was right joe, ive just been to my nissan dealer and it looks like your right about the price and the nissan dealer ringed all the parts that come with it but the brake light isnt included on the one i saw that had a seperate part number.

but if you have a light already then you could just swap it over.

the part that came up for me was 26570M.

i get it wednesday, hope its ok

I just bought one from local Nissan dealer £45 plus vat with light fitting

Joe, can you tell all of us where you are getting yours from, i take it its WITH a brake light. because my local Nissan Place says this

Good afternoon Mr Xxxx

The prices requested are as follows:

2659049P00 Lamp Assy £ 44.77 + vat = £ 52.61 inc vat

2659030P15 Lamp Assy £115.16 + vat = £135.13 inc vat

Trusting this is to your satisfaction

Regards

Mike

Hi Guys, i think you'll find the assembly on the left of the picture with the cable that has 3 bulb sockets on it comes from , i think, the early cars that had a foam spoiler on. Whereas the Assembly on the right of picture is from a later car that had an open spoiler, so they covered up that nasty piece of tailgate with a sexy bit of plastic. Some had brake lights in, some didn't. My last zed, a convert had the high level light on the back edge of the boot, and used LED's, I dont know when they started using them, but it looks light the strip used here uses the same harness assembly and bulbs, how old is your car Joe, maybe later models used 4, hope that helps and doesn't muddy the waters to much!

Quick one Joe, have you got the name of the place that did your strip?

you are paying the price of one without and getting one with the light fitting it seems??? which is what i want.

go and get me one at that money and i am not joking.

i will pay you a bit extra for your trouble and still be in pocket!!!

your paperwork is exactly what they gave me today but the light fitting one is £115 plus the vat.

got the trim bit confused tho, looks like it is supposed to use the brake light but the actual brake light has been covered over so if you put the bulbs in it wont shine through the trim the brake light housing is in there as well. i cant see the point in that. i thought the brake light may have been covered with a black sticker but whatever is over it wont come off.

Sounds like you got the one without the brakelight then. You'd know if you had one with the brakelight as it's actually moulded into the trim.

I have ordered one as well and should have it perhaps weds. :thumbup1:

Ordered through my local garage as they get a 20% trade discount at the nissan dealer they use in Preston.

Meaning I only pay them the £115.00 and no vat. They will get it for £95 and so by my reckoning thats £20.00 for them for handling. win win methinks

Got mine finally!!!

See the last post of mine for how much I paid.

It is exactly as I expected, the fragile strip with built in 3rd brake light complete with fixings and the four bulbs and bulb holders.

Will just pop in and then multi plug the light on.......simples. :tt2:

Wow, i actiually think that those prices are quite resonable for dealer parts.

Went to Vauxhall about 10 years ago to try to get the plastic part that replaces the number plate on an Opel Manta and was quoted some ridiculous price in the hundreds.

Peter

seeing as i now have my new trim, a thought occurred to me today (my only one), I wonder if somebody wants my old one.

I have the nissan packaging so could easily post it anywhere and I am thinking about £30.00 delivered, its a bit of something back for me and might put someone on.

Will come complete with the four bulbs and holders.

Have a good look at the pics, you will see it as two broken bits either side of the brake light, :cursing: thats held and covered up just with simple insulation tape.

In situ does not look all that bad and nobody as ever said anything.

pm me, i am sure i can get it off without damaging it further, will do this over the weekend.

anyway its worth a try for a sale!!!!
