Greetings all,

I'm not new to the Z32, but new to this site. My current Z is my 2nd, and likely wont be my last.

I just moved from the US to northwestern Germany in January, and I plan to use my Z as much as I can afford the fuel to see all the car enthusiast sites in Europe.

I have lots of family in England, primarily in and around Norwich. I would like to drive over this year sometime and coincide the trip with some sort of Z-related event.

I use my Z for fair-weather driving, recreational track days, and recently overhauled the engine bay so that it would be in proper shape to participate in car shows. Work schedule permitting, I am usually always up for participating in any of those types of events.

Some high quality pics a friend and I took last summer back in the US:

And a pic from the last track day I attended....

That looks like a good time. I think September may be a good time for me to try to make it across the channel for a trip anyway.

LJ! You finally made it! How's life in Germany treating you then? I had a great time at Tulsa BTW! Can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since!

I took these of you out on the track at Hallett....

A bit of help for you. Judging by where you're living in Germany now Lawrence, to where your family in Norfolk are, your best route across the channel is from the Hoek van Holland (Hook of Holland) to Harwich with Stena Line. Harwich is right on the Essex/Sufolk county line and I think is only abouy 70 miles from Norwich. Quite a nice crossing too.

Those pics bring bitter sweet memories. Track time is sweet when it goes well. Pic 1 would fall under sweet category. Track time is bitter when things are off. Pic 2 would be me pulling off the track IIRC, due to the massive boost leak cutting rpms at 3k, which I am looking for in pic 3. And of course to top it all off, the video camera recorded absolutely nothing the entire day, even after I had the car running halfway properly.

I wont lie Si, the transition from the US to Germany has not gone well at all. I wont bore you with the details here, but thankfully apart from the minor issues on my Z (intake leak under the plenum, and exhaust leak at the turbo flange) which I brought with me from Oklahoma, the Z arrived without a hitch in the process.

I am especially psyched to go to the 'ring and SPA this year, I'd like to join up with you guys' Nurburgring group this summer if that's allright. Thanks for the travel tip! I havent started planning the trip to the UK in any solid terms yet, so I was completely unaware that there were better options to cross the channel than the tunnel. I cant wait to visit, I havent been to England in 17 yrs.

Yeah, I wouldn't advise going that route. You'll have to navigate round London and believe me, you do not want to do this! Far better ways to cross the channel than to waste time in the wrong end of a stupidly congested part of the country.

I remember, didn't you have a fault with the HDD in that camera? It couldn't take the shock or vibration or something?

When you visit England, let me know and I'll drive over to where ever you are. Be good to catch up again!

I visit Germany 2 or 3 times a year as my sister lives in Munich....bit of a way aways from you though.

Will do!

Yep I didnt get the memo that HDD cameras no workie on rigid camera mounts. I plan to have a very slick (and of course concealed) multi camera setup installed into the car in time for the 'ring. Only a matter of funds as the wife and I have other priorities than video toys for my toy. I'll do my best though.

No worries.

When are you back in the US on vacation? Should be heading to Branson in June which should be fun! Think there's an EmpireZ BBQ in LA for when I'm in California. Want to try and get to Arkansas so I can drive tnkrstoyco's Z32 down to Missouri. Lots to do....no time. :(

Likely wont be going back. Wife wants to visit her family in S America now and again, so I honestly cant afford to spend thousands of $$ (yes, I am still getting paid in USD:censored:) on airfare each year for us to go visiting everyone.

For the next 2-3 months I dont know if I will have the time, but once the hectic part of my job is over, just let me know and I'll be there so long as it isnt too far away. I am tentatively planning to go to the Auto Technica Essen in April.
