Had it when I had my car site, was £2500 a year but that was for over 20 site cars plus me driving anything and for test drives. Tradex sorted it all for me.

Ive a trade policy,but i think you have to be self employed and income tax registered

hi, im not tax rej, im with DNA trade insurance, it costs 650 a year and im 23, (24 on sat!) i told them im a part time trader and work from home, my excess is 300, i can own as many cars as i want and drive any car i want with owners permission, max value of a car is 5 grand, i sell about 1 car a month, keep invoice of each one i sell, and at the end of the tax year if i dont make a profit of more than 5k i dont pay tax, you dont have to be vat registered untill your turnover is over 55k ish. i am of course "self employed" but all i pay is my national insurance on a weekly basis. (not much really)

 

Take it from me, if your 21 its pretty much impossible to get trade insurance, if you do you probably end up paying thousands, i was 22 when i done my first one and it cost me 1450 a year with an excess of 2k !!!

 

but then theres no way at my age i could insure a zed TT, Merc clk compressor and a pajero for less than that on normal insurance!!

 

its hassle free and you know whatever you jump in your covered! Peace of mind!

The important bit(for me) is to state'not trading as yet', but have personal cars...

Drive whatever, sell whatever.No problems when it comes to a claim.You need seperate screen cover though...Getting the bird added was only an extra £125 too! Lovely.

Mines through staveley head, Not the absolute cheapest but no hassle to change cars with just an email + no fees, includes imports+ modified + the 'bird' with the same cover!

i just rang them and they want atleast £1800 and im 24 with 1 year ncb :(

 

they said its because im 24 and that on this policy i would not be covered by the 300zx until i am 25

fair enough i guess.. i did challenge them that we have members on here with quotes for less but hey ho...

i pay £1300 per year for fully comp with my bro on policy as well,

can drive any car etc

 

so might be worth giving them a buzz if anyones after a trade policy

I'm only 24 :( I will try them but one thing I've noticed on all is that the zed won't be more than 3rd party when driving it :(
