hi all

whilst driving at any given speed the speedo needle gives up and just hits the bottom ie 0 mph. then when it feels like it it will pick back up and register the correct speed. any ideas on whats wrong and the best fix?

cheers

usually a dry joint on the speedo circuitry, it can be fixed by resoldering but i swapped mine out and no problems since.

Yep as above, sounds like a dry joint - can be soldered, but not a guaranteed fix so a straight swap is probably best.

I had mine soldered recently as was doing the same, got a bit better, but still drops to zero from time to time. Annoyingly if it sticks on 0 for too long the steering goes heavy and the HICAS light comes on. ( i believe this is to do with the speed sensor)

If you have a kph to mph convertor box fitted, take it out of line as these fail giving this problem, replace if it required. If you have a uk Zed then ignore this
