Part of my things to do list this summer, involve:

removing the side skirts and go smooth

remove rear spolier (its too big) either 99 spec spoiler or very low level one or smooth

fit new 99 spec front bumper

The opinions that i want are for the rear bumper. Do i:

Keep the wings west that i have on now.

Fit a jap spec TT bumper (i have a spare)

Fit a UK spec TT bumper (i have a spare)

This is what i have

This is what i aim to get near.

What do you reckon?

Like the plans. Those skirts have always looked overly fussy to me and the WW rear just doesn't look right with the winglet things on it. Needs to be Kaminari or stock to look its best. If you went for a kaminari rear then you'd need kaminari skirts and a Stillen GT-Z extension...which is something that would look nice and very subtle on a black Z. Other than that, the 99 front end sounds good, although I do really like the early TT bumpers. With a lip, it would look great. But you'd need skirts then.

car.mad does a nice bumper extension for the rear if you wanted to go down that route, otherwise, get rid of the stonechip if you're going to go with the 99 front end. :)

99 or stock TT spoiler....or if you can find one, an M30Z rear spoiler, but these are practically non existant.

Did you ever sort out the camber on your front wheels?

Thinking of doing the same myself to the TT, remove big rear wing and 99 it!

Yes your right to remove the skirts also.

But, to your question, I do like the wings west rears, they look full and chunky and hide the stone guard and components underneath,so yes i would keep it IMO

I dont particulary like the built in lights though

Daz.

....and get a custom fit rear plate fitted too without the GB logo! ;) A slight font size change and a custom size and you could get it all one line like mine. :)

Will cost you about 15 quid from fancyplates and makes the back end look neater. :)

I dont mind the WW Rear, but if you wanted to change then go Jap stock. The UK rear isn't as nice.

Fancyplates dont exist anymore the website is dead, I emailed them about doing plates for me and no reply and i have no idea of the actual size to get mine made elsewhere.

UK rear looks terrible with the huge number plate recess IMO, jap rear is the best option I reckon.

Measure the aperture?

Having seen your car in the flesh I think its the skirts that are the problem, I would go for some nice looking skirts. I like the rear bumper but I have one the same and like it.

All down to your own choice at the end of the day but black is a great colour..

stillen front lip. smooth skirts and the smooth rear lip (from me ;) ). 99 spec spoiler. thats what i would do if i was starting again :)

The man has taste. :duffer:

I'm liking your thoughts there (not too surprisingly when you look at my sig!).

I seem to be in rather a minority here but I like the UK rear, have never liked the square Jap style plates, the UK ones look 'designed in' but the square ones look a bit stuck on as an after thought. You also don't have to worry about sticking a nasty fog light on with the UK. And I'd go for the 99 spoiler...

For me, the original spoiler but fiber glass so you dont get that horrible paint peel and end up with a swimming pool where the space saver goes. the WW bumper looks ok, but you really need some exhausts that fill those holes, rather than ones that hug the sides and look too small for it.

I have to admit, i do like the jap spec bumper better, but then i hate having to bolt a fog light on that looks out of place.

If you remove the skirts, get some nice ones from Car.mad that carry on the flow of the car but dont distract with unnecessary styling that has no function.

There are ways round the foglight issue. I don't have any, but at MOT time, I swap out a bit of loom where one of the reversing lights is and change the bulb to a red one and I have a fog light. Because I never use it...ever, I simply return them to twin reversing lights when I'm done.

I have a bit of loom too but it changes my 2 inside brake light bulbs into the fogs

Same here! It works well and is hidden

ditto to that.

if ever i am on the road and it gets incredibly foggy, very unlikely, i can put the red bulb in in a flash and just bullet connect the wire i have there that goes to my switch. simples :sneaky2:

its the 2 built in fog lights I dislike on the UK bumper. With Jap models the standard procedure is to convert a reverse or brake light bulb into a dual function fog light, therefore comptely invisble.

Although, in reference to the number plates, the 300zx was actually designed for the Square plate, and its the UK version that is the after thought.

I personally like the Jap spec.

If you don't want the ugly fog light you can get an Ultrabright red LED strip to wire in that can either sit under the bumper or under the number plate. i got 2 from China and i think they were something like £1.50 each. bargain price and will look very discreet. they are clear but then shine BRIGHT red when switched on :)
