Hi Guys

Just fitting my new AP brakes, they are massive!! Wondering what's the best way of flushing old brake fluid out. wondered whether to allow all old brake fluid to run out of reservoir and brake lines. Then connect up to new brakes add new fluid in reservoir and pump through, or just keep pumping and topping up reservoir.

My concern of allowing all fluid out of brake system is having air trapped. Already have instructions on bleeding brakes.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Kev

Thanks for the offer jmwuk, i already have that same bleeder. Want to ensure all old brake fluid is flushed as been in system about 5 years!!

Fitting new kit want to ensure installed to the optimum level.

When I snapped a breakline and had to change the fluid, it took 2 .5 liter bottles of break fluid to bleed them from what i can remember, misses sat in the car pumping the peddle, while i used some fish bubbler tubing from pets at home on the nipples and bleed them into a container, starting at the abs unit under the plastic covering in the boot (drivers side) with the two nipples on, then did the fronts and then the backs (drivers first then passenger) then for good messure the abs unit again, that was the easiest way I found to bleed them (thanks jeff at zed world for the info)

Mine kind of started to empty in slow drips till I got back from the local garage, who fabricated me some new pipe. in that time it must of emptyed about 200ml and it was a nightmare trying to get the air out of the system. my advice would be to just flush it through with some new rather then emptying the system.

and use some clear tubing on the bleed nipples so you can see if there are still tiny air bubbles in the fluid
