Ya'll with uprated side mounts..

Hello everyone..

Hope you are enjoying your Zs with your roofs off. I sure have been as the sun has been out the past few days down London..:)

What I want to know is what people with aftermarket side mounts have done to their bumpers to allow the air to flow through to the coolers right. I have got Pace side mounts which are very big compared to the stocks and a big portion of them is hidden due to the bumper I have on. The pick up and boost of the car has been sluggish at times and I always felt (the past 2 years that she has been on the road especially) that the car has got more excitement to give with a few niggles done here and there. So last night I bothered taking the bumper side lights off which revealed about the rest half of the coolers and I took the car for a spin and WOAHHHHHH..she was an ANIMAL..The sound of the turbos spooling was grrreat..I have been giving the ducts some thoughts recently but dont think they would do me much good as the hole in them is not big enough till where I know..So am looking to invest in a V1 bumper via Zcentre as that seems to be the only one with massive scoops for air flow to the side mounts.

So would just like to see what you people have done to get your aftermarket side mounts to suck in air right...

Pics would be great..

Best regards,

Zee...:)

i've done absolutly nothing to my bumper, may well fabricate some ducts in the future though. had no probs with boosting/cooling either.

I must admit I drove mine last week without the sidelights in either! I was going to make something to help direct the flow (its a UK model so they are only blanks).

Have you cleared the area behind the intercoolers? i.e. carbon canister, washer bottle, overflow tank?

I honestly just read about all that stuff a little while ago on here..I haven't moved anything behind..Just removed the undertray due to the coolers sitting lower than the tray..Dunno if that is any good but must do some good I suppose..Air ducts I suppose is the only way to get abit more air in there if you want to keep the side lights..I wanted to see if anyone had done any other mods to get air to the coolers..Maybe put smaller side lights with indicators in that area and have the rest bit left to allow air through..But dont think that will look too good..Someones gotta have done something different..Just thought I'd check and see how it looks..

Might have to get this done properly but changing the front bumper with one that has a bigger area to let air through..Not too fond of the current bumper anyway..
