Been to an import dealer in Dudley today to look at a 300zx, to buy. Was wondering if anyone knew of this dealer, Japenese Import Specialists? The car looks good. Ive never owned a 300zx, and never owned a turbo and could do with some advice on areas to look at, as i am going to look at it again. The car is in pearl white (is this rare?), it is tt and a swb. It has done 60,000km, and there appears to be no rust. I am really excited about this one, and just wanted some expert advive.

Thanks guys

Fresh imports tend to be in good condtion all round.

A pearl white TT SWB i would say is quite rare and it sound like a nice motor.

Got any pics or website??

Here is the buyers guide http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm Just do the ussual cheaks like you would on any car tbh

hth :gunsmilie:

thats been on PH for a little while now, suprised its not sold! I really like it so good luck!

Doesn't look too shabby, it could do with a good clean though!!!

Just a couple of thoughts... I'm not an expert but I have gone through a few Zeds now so hope that this is good advice; Firstly it looks to have had a boost controller fitted; this isn't a problem as long as it's set up properly, if the garage are import specialists hopefully they'll know how to check what the hi and lo boost settings are and let you know, anything over 14-15psi then you really need to get the car checked over by a specialist, secondly it's had BOV's fitted, these can cause issues with rough running, some members here have issues and some don't... and its missing the relay/fuse box cover in the engine bay... That's from what I can see from the pics...

Other than that it looks like it could stand to be a good example, as always with these things buy with your head and not your heart and if you have any doubts then ask here, there are some very knowledgable people on this forum, it could be worth giving Zedworld a call, they're based in Tamworth, they will be able to tell you obvious things to look out for etc. and there aren't many people that know more about Zeds than Jeff and his team!

Anyhow good luck with the purchase!

If its the place I`m thinking of which is very close to the merryhill shopping center.I went there with a mate ,we were not impressed cars had faultys and bits missing ,mate didnt buy the car he went to look at.They also wanted him pay a deposit to take for a test drive .

Is this the place http://www.merryhillautocentre.co.uk/site_search.php?search_cat=3&search_make=34&search_model=300zx&search_condition=2&x=44&y=17

The white one looks not to bad, after it would have a good wash and polish, tho spolier could do with a re-fit imo

Yeh its the one near the Merryhill shopping centre, I agree, the place seems a little bit dodgy and the guy is a bit suspect. Kept on wanting me 2 put a deposit. Think I might give this 1 a miss, down 2 the fact that I dont rely trust the guy + what you and Stricker says, there appears to be a missing part. Am gutted as it was the spec im after, ow well, on with the search. Thanks for the comments guys. Think I will stick, in buying, off an enthusiast.

Welcome to the forum, and yeah fully inspect first and make sure your happy otherwise could work out expensive

Cheers guys for the help. Didnt mess around, so took it to Jeffs at Z World. Found the problem, the seal had gone in the clutch booster, causing it to cut at high revs.

Thanks again

Hi bud, glad you're sorted and hope to see you around town sometime. Happy Jeff was able to sort it for you, he's a top bloke - you'll find there are some really top blokes on here, very helpful and knowledgeable as well
