What year did the Series 1 stop and Series 2 start

 

As I'm not sure. i'm looking at buying some Leather seats from a 1990 Zx

 

and i got a 1997, will they fit??

yours will be a series 3/4. yeah the seats will fit. there all the same through out. But some are electric and some manual adjustment.

Whats the differences as seems to be a quite a lot of flexibilty in crossovers of parts

The above is not 100% accurate as there were some crossover between years, and there were some differences in U.S/Jap/UK spec and options, but gives a pretty good idea.

 

The Difference in seats is the material used and Electric/Manual operation, other than the rare optional recaro's in later years. Leather same throughout, but the cloth material changes from Grey tweed > Blue Velour > Black Tweed.

 

Series 1 was Electric drivers, Manual Passengers as standard. Leather or Grey Tweed

Sereis 2-3 was Electric drivers, Electric Passengers as standard. Leather or Velour

Series 4 onwards Manual standard, and Electric became optional. Leather or Black Tweed

 

There are some early series 1 that are running around with Both Manual as well.

Mine is a series 2 and has manual seats on both sides and no one knows why :blink::huh:

It would of been electric as standard, but optional Manual.

 

The Slicktop was the model that came with everything as optional, rather than standard.
