Hi Chaps, I have just received a pair of R33 Brembo calipers.

I have noticed that one of the calipers has had a broken hub mount at some time and it has been welded back on.

Obviously I have emailed the seller for an explanation, but my question to you guys is do you think it will be safe to use??

Won't hold anyone to their word, just after some opinions on this.

Has anyone else had this happen before?

Cheers....

I saw the calipers on sale on ebay and they did appear to be the very same and from the same seller. Obviously this is not substantiated and is only my opinion....

I didn't notice a weld but that's because I didn't even bother to inspect them any further than to notice that they were the wrong colour and there were no discs in the box!

IF they are the same calipers then saying he bought them for a project and is selling due to poor health is a load of tosh!! They came off his TT and have been used a more than enough by the seller already. I know this because I thought I was buying the Brembos off his NA and he sent me the wrong ones 'cos he couldn't get the NA out of the garage'....

Good luck Turbocraigy but I would also add that as you can see the forum is full of very helpful and friendly people and for the advice and support you can get (and have received so far!!) a £20 subscription is nothing. Better to keep everyone in the good books than come across as a freeloader from the get-go IMO....

The Ebay seller has agreed to give me a refund, its all going through Paypal tho & I'll be sending them back via recorded delivery.

Will keep you posted.....

Sumshiftguy, I'm not too sure how to take your comment. I am no freeloader! I have also provided plenty of help myself on this forum, scan my posts and see.

Subscription is optional - you get other facilities that I do not for your £20 and that is your choice to pay for them.

I have been a member of other car forums before owning the Nissan and none have had any subcription policy.

No offence meant at all mate. Its just that the subscription point was raised above re posting pics and sending pm's so I thought I'd try to convince you to join the clan through subscription! Sorry if it came out harsh, wasn't meant to at all!

Otherwise, that's great news about the refund. Fingers crossed it all goes through without any further problems!
