HOW THE HELL DO THEY DO IT!! how can you relocate the fuse box etc. i want to tidy up the wiring but i cannot seem to find a way of moving these parts around.

 

this is lukes car and he has a back skin going across the rear of the engine.

you can see the fuse box is missing and the accociated wiring ptu . HOW!!!!!

We have cut each and every wire on ours and are extending them to go through the chasis and under the headlight. Its quite a job to do properly. Failing that you can delete your air con unit and have them on the side of the chasis.

Relcated mine to the passenger footwell. Followed DUBs write up from the aussie forum. Extended every wire. Right PITA.

I have had all other wires relocated out of site as well, except the EFI loom which we are working on at the moment.

ohhh,thats ALOT of soldering...is it worth it, mean ,does it clean it up much ?cos theres tons or other untidy stuff there.The VW boys do it all the time,but a vwGolf has lots less clutter to tidy up..:blink:

You just have to remove the lid and cuddle a bit with it.

Luke poked his down behind the headlight panel - I moved mine doen to near where the air con compressor used to be:

 

 

It has a shiny splash cover now and is sealed up with clear silicon where the wiring enters/exits. This is a bit extreme and currently untested as yet so... (as in bits of car still in the post so it has not moved for a while like this). ;-))
