hi all im sam i live in ivybridge just outside plymouth im 28 and had lots of nice cars over the years but i am at a point in my life where im looking at getting one of the best looking cars i have ever seen but first need to know what to look for when seeing one you see i have at the moment a Jreg mr2 turbo which is nice but i just dont think its me so i put it up for sale at £2500 well i didnt sell it but got offered a 300zx twinturbo and thought humm may be then today i got home from work and someone else has offered a 380bhp 300zx but i dont know much about your cars i just know thay are big and sorry to say this but look like they dont handle so i need to know lots of info guys and girls if im to swap my lovely mr2 turbo please get back to me asap as im seeing the 2 cars some time today or tomorrow thanks .sam ps i didnt say they dont handle im saying they look to big to handle but im probley rong

i have owned my swb zed for 3 months and i am still getting to know it, i had a mx5 and you have a mr2, the zeds are different animals to these by far, they are a proper motor vehicle.

you will find all sorts of info from threads on this site but you will get what you pay for and of course the running costs are high, if you want cheap costs by yourself a corsa, lol!!!!

as i drive about there is nothing 99.9% of the time to touch a zx.

i dont regret buying mine for a minute.

well the mr2 dose 18 to the gallon if its on full boost so im not to bothered about running cost as i wont be using it for a day to day car as i have a crappy nissan micra for that job what is the differenc between the swb and the lwb and how do i know if the car im looking at is one or other cheers for the reply mate

look for the fuel filler location, swb is nearer the door as on mine, nearer the rear after the wheel arch on a lwb, which are much more common, 10 inches longer methinks.

also the long wheel base has 4 seats and the swb has 2 ;)

so which one is better the swb or lwb and what sort of power are they from factory and is the jap one any differnt in power to the uk as the one im looking at later is uk see when i had my crx SIR b16 the jap one mine was 20bhp more than the uk VTI. eg mine 170BHP and my friends 150BHP so is it the same for the 300zx

swb is best for the track and on the twisties and the lwb is a proper gt car.

 

Jap and uk spec are the same performance wise 280hp, there are a few minor differances. folding mirrors on the jap heated seat on the uk spec plus loads of rust ussualy :lol:

 

The auto box is also almost 20 hp down on the manual but there is no differance between them in the real world. just pub talk lol!!!!

you say there 280 BHP but my mate told me they are like 300BHP or is that at the wheels like my mr2 its 320bhp at the fly but 280 at the wheels.and is the 0.60 something like 5.5sec for such a big car it looks like it can shiffed

I dont think any one really knows lol!!!

 

Jap and uk are surpose to be 280 but in the US they say its 300hp so??? (at the fly)

 

All the top speeds and 0/60 are the same. swb about .2 sec quicker

 

chip it exhaust and filter will see you around the 360/380 hp mark :cool3:

Car still going ok then, that is one good car you got their, wish I could keep mine. When i put my foot down in mine i get goosepimples + the looks i get is unreal, i come out of the shops and 90% of the time their are people talking about it.

yep real head turner thats for sure .. and impreza ,cossie,m3,any hot hatch killer ))) when modded properly ..

very comfy at high speeds ))
