Im a total newbie to this.Picked up a TT for cheap. It was running but very rough, decided to pull the motor so I could check everything from scratch.Ive been through all your threads learning as much as I can as this is the first turbo I have ever owned.I know i could spend money on all the correct equipment but due to money and the fact that i still have to get the car through its inspection so dont want to change to much.My idea is to connect the actuator for the turbo straight to the inlet manifold through the solinoid valve that comes with the car with a switch activating on the dash.

So what this means is I will be running normal boost most the time unless I depress the switch on my dash which will block the actuator hose giving me unlimeted boost"untill I let go of the switch or the motor blows up"which ever come first.

Any thoughts.

Better off with a boost controller and leaving the turbo set up alone, otherwise you will end up with engine out again.

welcome to the club - im not sure of the science behind it, but I reckon you'd need to have good reactions to switch the boost off before it builds up too much (

A least thats a resonable reply,My thinking is that it could be no worse than leaving the waste gate disconected which i found to be the case on one of my turbos anyway.Ill mess around and see how it turns out.

DO NOT leave it disconnected please !! do connect it as it was before and insert boost jets . use search to see what why where and so forth ..
