Paint Time

Basically, the red paint on my car is knackered. Looks good from a distance, but the drivers door is slightly darker, and theres a few small rust patches that need sorting out. So I have already decided to change the whole colour, and in the end it was a toss up between a straight black or white. Or olive drab

I can picture in my mind how I want my Z to look, but didn't know if I would dare to do it olive drab. A lot of you helped me out and gave me the confidence to go for it before, so I ordered a 'sample can' the other day...

and sprayed a piece of old wing I have, I must admit I LOVE IT!! Its not very easy to photograph to show the exact colour, but the finish is very uniform (thats just one coat)

What I plan is olive drab paint, dark wheels, matt black (or satin black) under the bonnet and other detailing. I know it will not be to everyone's taste, but will certainly be unique... I think if enough people say yes then I'll do it!:thumbup:

If it looks terrible, it can soon get changed again, right?

so will go from this:

I think that most people here would not want to do it if it was their car. That being said I think most people will give you encouragement to do it for a laugh.

Make your own mind up, but it will ruin it... but be a laugh and if you are up for some fun go the whole hog and Mr Blobby it.

My thoughts exactly, peeps will say "yeh mate go for it :sneaky2:" then piss themselves when it looks pants after and would NEVER adorn their cars with such hideous colours.

I will 3rd that lol!!!!

Or just go the full hog and paint brown patches all over it. proper army style it will look amazing :lol:

my thoughts too!:helpsmilie:

OK, Baz . Erm , if this is a joke , fine and dandy . LOL

But if it isn`t , you obviously hate your car . In which case , for instance if it was a dog , the authorities should take it away from you for its own safety .

Bring in Zocial Services !

That is strange, that colour from that angle looks good.

I`m quite surprised at the poll results! nearly 50/50!!, I dont think Baz is joking at all, and i will stick with my first opinion, As long as it looks like the photoshop picture, it will look great :cool3:, I still think white is the best colour for a zed though.

Would i paint my zed Olive??? NO

i hope its not a joke as i like the idea so much it got me thinking about going down the same rout but with matt black as nobody can match my paint? (pearl white but not the original pearl whit it started life as):-( & a full respray is not econimical to what the car is worth!

i voted yes but if its hard to clean marks of then i would vote no, unless you lacquer it.

aaaarrrgggghhhh :2guns: lol

The room is divided - nearly half and half. :pinch:

I wouldn't go out and buy a £5k Z32 then do this to it, however mine was £800 and has been self-funding. I wasn't joking about doing it, I personally think it will give it a very different and aggressive appearance.

or it'll go white, but thats a bit common

i done some reading up & found that its easy to clean as u can put clear coat laquer on it wich has matting agent added to it so it remains matt but can be cleaned easy
