Hi Bob,

I recently enquired about having a Clifford Concept 600 fitted to me Z. Price was fixed for fitting until I mentioned that it already had an alarm on but I wasn't happy with it and I wanted to upgrade.

They then started telling me that I could be looking at a shed load extra on top to strip out the old alarm, saying that it's a nightmare to trace the circuits for the old system. And that they'd had customers come back complaining of false alarms due to bit of the old alarm which had not been removed, reacting with the new one.

Is this the case or are they just trying to sting you for extra cash?

Hi Tim,

trying to get a bit extra is the easy answer. If i`m fitting something like a Concept 600 or any Cat1 alarm i don`t charge for removing the existing unit.

If anything removing an existing unit can be helpful as it can save time looking for pick up points.

Let me know where you are and what you`ve been quoted, i`ll see what i can do.

The Z isn`t the easiest cars to work on but i have done a fair few so know my way around them pretty well. I`m not claiming to be the worlds best but it is a car i am familiar with.

Cheers Bob,

Just the sort of answer I was looking for, I will definitely come and see you when I get me car back.

I'm down in Caernarfon, so Chester is a stones throw away, I know that you are de best for the Z as you have the credentials and preceeding rep already.

Respect fella

Hopefully get to meet your GODLY self soon...
