The car ( a J-spec TT ) failed its MOT today and the garage proprietor , unbeknownst to me , ordered front discs ( non-Nissan parts ) at £110 . I`m not at all sure about the quality at that low price . My current ones are drilled and grooved ( and fubarred lol ) . The nearside caliper is binding too , another fail point . And apparently I need new pads even though the current ones are hardly used .

Advice and recommendations please , maestros

if you dont want to go for a big brake kit but want to improve braking i suppose the only way is by buying 320mm discs with brackets and a caliper rebuild kit and some ebc redstuff pads or similar.

320mm should be ok in 17'' wheels. i have 355 under 18'' wheels.

It will depend on the wheels tho - my 17" rims have the spokes about 5mm away from the calipers! No way bigger discs will fit! :crying:

Check the clearance on the spokes to the calipers!

Mine's at Zedworld having (amongst other work) new front discs and pads as we speak.

I think they're EBC. About £300 all in for discs, pads, fitting, vat etc I think ... maybe a bit more?

From my experience of really cheap discs on motorbikes, I'd be wary of anything that might not be up to the job.
