I'm looking for some guidance and help on an issue i'm trying to resolve regarding the fitment of rear back boxes on the LWB Z32 (89-01).

Basically, do original or aftermarket back boxes differ in overall length on the LWB models throughout any of the production years?

I assumed that any rear boxes designed for the LWB models would fit onto the original system without a problem.

I removed a set off my LWB and am going to replace with a new pair soon BUT i've sold the old ones to somebody who also has a LWB and they are saying that the boxes are 6" too long and the end flanges are the wrong size even though they are the normal bore size??? They are adamant they do not have a SWB either.

I'm just needing some clarification from those that would be in the know.

Any help is greatfully received.

All LWB models were the same and certainly well upto and even over 1996.

With any aftermarket system, the back box section from start to finish has to be the same. Some companies use longer or shorter backboxes than others, but the pipework connected is different to suit, so in short from front to back, it's always the same total length.

If this guy has a LWB there no reason under the sun why it shouldn't fit, year, jap or UK or owt else except if he has a SWB.

EDIT, Soz just re read this lol so your back boxes are aftermarket?? brand?? and i assume connected to pipework that also came with it?

This guy has a completely stock system and is replacing the back boxes only? and is a TT?

Yeah they were Fujitsubo ones but the rest of the system on the LWB NA is standard. Definately not aftermarket. I bought a standard set of stainless decats for it and they fitted fine.

He's got a NA also and stock system and is saying pipework is 6" too long to join centre pipes.
