does anybody have one of these, and are they any good.

my main question is do they hold signal well, i have a DAB radio at home and if you move it from one place to another in the house it picks up certain stations and looses others depending on where it is.

is this going to be the same in the car, and do they work of the standard arial or do you need a new one putting into the car somewhere.

cheers and happy new year

I believe they do work from a standard ariel. Must be good, as every car stereo is turning to DAB.

i had a hire car a few years ago with work and it had a DAB radio in there and it was ok but was factory fitted so maybe would have had a special DAB arial fitted as standard??, not sure, just gonna be looking for a sony aftermarket head unit that will work with my CD changer but also has DAB, cheers for the reply tho mate.

As said the standard aerial can be used but should be short (approx 30-35cm) as dab uses higher frequencies. DAB aerials dont cost alot anyway bud and will give you better reception plus they can be hidden around trim areas ;)

I had a car that came as standard with a DAB stereo. That had a seperate aerial hidden under the bonnet

I fitted a DAB stereo and aerial to my zed, the aerial was about £20 and stuck to the inside of the screen, very small and you could not really notice it as it was tucked away in the corner.

I had no problems with reception, I had a JVC headset and Blaupunkt aerial.
