Normally all Exedy clutches on ebay are fake. If i was you i would get a RPS clutch.

The seller is a UK registered seller with over 3000 positive feedback.

their full name. address and phone numbers are on their shop site.

Unlikely to be fake. IMO

I put "Normally"

that the one i bought for my zed mate.

althought i only drove it 35miles so cant really comment on it but it was fien for that short journey.

I have to agree with Murt, soz. There seems to many people on here having trouble with e-bay exedy clutches. Do a search and you will find 'em. RPS clutch all the way.

Al.

Luke at the Zcentre was telling me of a new range of high quality clutches for handling higher power outputs he,s now supplying , seemed a really good price as well , dunno why he was telling me mines an auto :yes: HTH

I have the ebay clutch you are asking about here, fitted, tried and tested.

It was fitted back in May and is performing perfectly.

The only slight gripe is the release bearing has got slightly noisy, although there is a chance it wasn't changed with the clutch.

My car isn't standard....running 14psi, apexi induction, exhaust, Zedworld chip.

I drive enthusiastly, but very rarely do any traffic light racing. If you are type that give first gear some hammer regularly then get a stronger clutch, otherwise this clutch (if fitted & adjusted properly) will be fine.

HTH.

I have the same clutch from the same seller, easy to fit and is good as gold.

Handles the power on mine no probs.

I think Jeremy has the same.

Good budget clutch.

sounds quite promising! theres nothing wrong with the clutch thats in but my engine blew up so i'm changing the complete engine for one i bought off here and thought it a good idea to change the clutch while the engines out!

cheers for all the replies much appreciated

ok next question what else should i do while i have the chance ie engine out ?

Plenum bypass , getting rid of those old perished little water pipes , rear crank seal and theres some core plugs at the back of the engine that,s only accessable with the engine out , i also did my rocker cover gaskets cos they usually leak , junk AIV,s and remove EGR system , that should keep you busy for ten minutes :lol: HTH

RPS clutches are great, but very heavy on the pedal and really only needed if you are pushing out more than the standard power. I fitted and Exedy and the pedal pressure is so different from the heavy RPS clutch. My car is now banging out around 400 bhp and the Exedy is doing just fine. The price difference is great too.

Only the RPS Max series is a heavy clutch, the fact it is heavier is because it is designed to hold far greater power. The RPS Sport series is literally the same pressure as a stock unit, but holds more power if need be.

Think there are about 7 different variations of the RPS clutch

Even Exedy and all other brands of clutches can be heavy, it all depends on which particular model you buy and what it is designed to deal with.
