buy a manual n/a and slap on a turbo,,,best way round it in my opinion

I think It`s possible Craig, but a lot of messing, not just an engine /gearbox swap, but intercoolers/pipes wires etc, but yes, its the same shell so why not.

 

If you have found a nice N/a auto, why not keep it like that? I have both and would rather drive the N/A! They sound better, more economical and just feel more reliable as less heat is produced and less ware than 2 fizzing turbo`s

 

IMO obviously! when a N/a is running spot on they can out run many modern cars mate, and how many times do we actually take a twin turbo to the MAX!! Scary licence killers!

im sure it is possible but it aint half the long way round when thinking of the differences in parts when it gets down to wiring looms and stuff

Now that looks a pretty car, needs a bit of work tidying the interior but looks straight outwards! Although of course cnat say until you've seen it.

Yep I agree, Sometimes i love autos other times i just wanna drive a Manual, hence my gerabox swap in the next few weeks!!

Would be alot easier finding an auto TT and converting it, or just wait for a TT manual!

yup it can be done. but you will need to buy a full manual tt car with rot or something to transfer everything into the auto N/A. not really worth it imo. maybe convert it to manual and leave it N/A.

id be all for getting one that needs work if i was after one but after all you have went through is that what you really want? would your girlfriend put up with it again lol mine wouldnt. if i was you id just find one that was close to what you wanted instead of a project that way you can have one thats running and do things to it if and when you please just my opinion obviously

shes fine with it all now as she knows that all i really want to drive is a nice 300zx now aday.lol. Shes seen how i really like them so its all go go go:D

Just my opinion mate, but bet you could do better than that one.

It says the car is not imported (I.E. UK spec), really think that a good Jap import would be better...unless you know of a nice low miles cherished,standard-ish UK example that is rust+rot free.

If I was buying again, I would be buying one of the fine examples from this site that clearly had lots of TLC+money spent on them and a history that could be partly traceable from his/her posts.

Due to the current low value of these cars, £4k should buy a really good example.
