I was listening to that on the radio, coming home from the football.

I kept thinking to myself "It would be good if RATM could get it but i all the teeny-boppers would buy the x-factor winners single".

Anyway, how did Su-Bo get on with the Album Chart?

yeah, great, lets sit down to chrimbo lunch listening to some shitty rock band, atleast jo's song is slightly listenable

They aint a shitty Rock band !!

When did anybody sit down to Xmas dinner and listen to a rock band ??

Queens speech ya heathen !!!!:hang:

Alan...........

well it sounds shite to me and sounds like a rock or punk song, unless im listening to a different song

how good is it that rage against the machine beat x factor everyone kept saying it wont happen.:clap::punk:

The tide is about to turn me son !!:surrender:

In the future, some folks may care more about the music than the image ??

i really think the xfactor song is terrible doesnt sound good at all to me, would quite happily sit down at christmas and listen to rage against the machine

the song is shite, but if it means that bands start competing for the xmas no1 slot again then I'm over the moon.

The music industry gave up 3 years ago when Cowell started to dominate.

the only good thing to come out of it is that Cliff bloody Richard hasn't tried to release anything.

BTW.

it's already on Wiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Against_the_Machine

yeh i bet the record company is gutted!! both songs are owned by sony LMAO

Well, doesn't matter to me, although i used to listen to rage against the machine, and other rock bands like that back in my day (when i used to have hair down to me bum)

Its the principle of the matter, that the X factor song didn't make it and that's whats important.

There used to be a time when you didn't know what the Christmas number one was going to be, some times we had decent ones, other times we didn't (Mr blobby, bob the builder?? LOL)

Then X-Factor came along, for the last god knows how many years its been running, The first prize for the X-Factor winner was a recording contract, but after the 2nd year, it silently changed to Christmas number 1.

Now don't get me wrong, i have no problems with someone from the X-Factor winning the Christmas number 1, but at least give them THERE OWN song, and not a media fed number 1 spot with a cover version.

Im glad RATM won, only thing is, i wish it was a different song, after all the record contract for the X-factor winner is with Sony, RATM is also on a Sony label, Simon Cowell Runs Syco Records which as of 2002 became part of Columbia Records and Sony BMG Music Entertainment so either way, hes still going to rep profit from this

pmsl, so using RATM is bascially a load of shite, as the machine they are on about (mr simon cowell) still profits anyway

fookin great choice of song people, should be rage against the morons lol

Well I wont be buying it thats the worst no 1 I have ever had the pleasure of hearing.:censored:

well done rage against the machine and the people that bought it, its good to know that the xmas number 1 isnt a done deal before we even know who and what song it will be.

you's all say well done RATM, but it was plastered all over the internet to be voted for to get joe knocked off the number one spot, it isnt number one because its a good song, its an utter load of shite

it was inevitable to be number one and was a done deal, there was no competition in it

You could say the same about the x factor...

thats the point im getting at mate, you say that x-factor is a done deal, but they buy the songs because people like them, this new number one was a done deal and is number one just to get joe knocked off and for no other reason

I see what you're saying mate but I hate the x factor :gunsmilie: The charts have been getting manipulated for years and the only difference this time is that it was done in public.

Its ok, Joe might make it to number 1 in 15 years from now ?:punk:

NOT !!

doubt he'll even make the buzzcocks identity round :chris:

that was the idea wasnt it, it wasnt about if it was a good song or not, or about who made the most profit from the sales, it was about trying to create a little competition around the xmas number 1 again and stop the machine that was/is the xfactor, it has become a done deal in recient years that the xmas number 1 is automatically the xfactor winner before we even know who has won or what song they will be singing.

just for the record i think the xfactor song is ok, i would much rather listen to rage, although i dont have the radio on much on xmas day and dont think it will make a diffrence if it was number 2 or 1, they will both get the same airtime either way, lets hope next years xfactor compeitor is a half decient song and can get similar support.

oh and i dont think for 1 second it was about joe, exactly the same would have happened if one of the others had won.
