I'm instaling the UK stereo and CD player and have a question,

I know what the plugs on the radio are for but cant work out the CD player?

One wire [cream/white] comes out of the CD player and goes into the radio but the cd player also has a yellow wire coming from it and also a 4 pin plug and I'm not sure what these are for? The adio powers up fine but CD player wont and I'm guess it something to do with that wire and plug

Heres a pic, radio is the bottom one, cd on top

What wiring do you have? Can you take a picture of the looms and I'll check out my mates ;)

The loom has been altered as there was a kenwood unit in the car, but I have the OEM connectors so it all fits back into the head unit ok and have the radio working fine, just the CD wont power up and I'm thinking that the yellow wire has to go somewhere or a plug is missing that goes into the 4 pin slot in the CD player?

there's a loom that plugs into the OEM stereo which has a connector for that extra wire (so it's a male to female loom which has an extra connector). Does that make sense?

Hi,

Yeah think I know what your mean.

The OEM loom that plugs into the Stereo/Radio has a connector that, the CD player plugs into, using that yellow wire, would that be right? [think i'm missing that plug]

I take it the 4 pin male socket on the CD Player doesnt get used?

I beleive I have a photo of the one I've fitted to mine, that shows all the plugs etc.

I'll have a look for you this evening when I get home.

Thanks Dave! That would be a help.

The adapter lead you mentioned, where does it run from?

Right, you have the loom plug from the car that would normally go direct to the radio sockets. But the adaptor loom fits between the two and has a spur off to the CD player for power and illumination.

Ok thanks for that!

Any pics of it or know where I could get one?

I'll check for the pics later, I'm sure I still have them.

As for the loom, would the person who you got it off still have it? They may not even realise it should of gone with the CD!

I bought it off Jett and Zed World so will check in with him!

If you find the pics that would be great,

Thanks

Hi Sudesh,

Not sure on the lead question as it was removed from a breaker some time ago, however when I tested it before sending out I made a lead up and used small ( speaker type) crimps to connect it, if you take a look on the top of the cd there is a wiring diagram that gives you the pin outs.

Hope that helps.

Yes just got the mail, read you post and replied before seeing that (lol)

Ok as we do not have the car to go with that cd/radio combination we have no reference, however as I said not all lost a patch lead can be made up to power the cd, looking at the two pics you have they look quite different, the one you have looks to only need power etc as the audio and switch control is via the white din lead which plugs into the radio, will have a look see if I can get you the information you need.

OK, using your pic.........

And as Jeff has already said joint up an adaptor lead of your own using this as a guide (Colours used are as per the colours of your wiring loom)

The large Black earth wire should be in your Zed behind the radio aperture and bolted to the floor.

The yellow wire joints to the yellow of your loom plug (it's a switching wire so that the CD comes on at the same time as your radio)

Thanks again, just waiting now for the stereo bracket from Jeff to install.

Ran into another problem, the antenna in the car has been altered to a single plug, but the one on the OEM stereo take a 2 pin male plug and I cant find any adapters on EBAY etc that go from single to 2 pin male, I can find single to 2 pin female ok but that no use obviously.
