My car does not have a horn button but the horn itself it is under the bonet. How do I make it work?

Any advice on how to install a horn on a 300zx would be apreciated.

What steering wheel do you have that has no horn button?

There is a plug, that connects to the boss for the TT, did the boss have a plate or a plug on the bottom?

the horn button acts as the negative when connected,

 

then it has its own posotive from the relays in the engine bay.

 

 

my car didnt have the wire that went from the boss to the engine bay somehow.

 

so i ran a new wire all together.

 

 

ran negative from the horn to the boss, then a posotive from the horn to the battery.

 

when you push the horn, it completes the circuit & "hoots" :)

the boss is the bit that the steering wheel attaches to.

Ok sorry lol. The steering boss is the black circular part that turns with the wheel, that the wheel attaches too. If you undo the 6 allen srews that hold the wheel on, you will then see the top of the boss. Undo the centre bolt 19mm iirc then lift off the boss. At the bottom of the boss there should be a plug with 3-4 wires attached, the horn wire is in the plug. the horn button itself will have an earth and if its not toughing the inside of the boss it will not work, so before you go taking the wheel and boss off, try the earth on the button.

I was gonna buy a new horn but the existing one was disconected only.

I have removed the momo badge and noticed that there was no conection. :oops:
