i want to get rid of the hicas and clean up a bit but would like to get rid of the TT pump and change it for a NA pump, can i just remove the tt pump and all the hicas pipes and gubbins and put a NA pump in? do i need anything else apart from a NA pas pot and a NA pas pump and bracket?

Pretty much yes that's it, obviously you'll need the lock out bar as in Z1's pic.

I removed the whole lot, all lines under the car everything.

Just 1 thing about swapping the pump over, generally as it's a slightly smaller pump, you have to adjust the bracket to make the pump sit forward a bit because many have reported their pulley belt not being "true" otherwise.

Dunnno if Z1 do this slight alteration or not if you were buying from them.

Nothing a grinding wheel in a local garage can't do if fitting for yer though.

cheers

smithy

Isnt it an option to remove the TT pump, strip the HICAS pump internals out of it and block off the holes?

That way it keeps the pulley in the correct position and you dont need to faff about with grinding brackets and all sorts?

that sounds an option, is it easier to fit a NA pump and a bit of fettling with the bracket?

got a tt pump with hicas section removed for sale if your interested, straight swap for original pump no modding of brackets required.

I got that kit from Z1 and i had to change the pulley as it didn't line up as Smithy said. I had bought the Unorthodox Light Weight Pulley set and had to order a N/A pulley to replace the TT one. You get a N/A bracket with the pump aswell which is different to the TT one. Just something to think about.

Cheers,

Ant

iirc pump cost about £60 second hand from a saxo, had to make up a couple of pipes to connect pump to original pipework and a bit of wiring with a relay to supply power pipes and wiring were al from stuff i had kicking about.

you cant put a NA pump onto a TT engine, as people say the pulley doesnt line up.

ive got the TT engine, TT pump,

just blocked the take-off for the Hicas with a banjo bolt i beleive (as is high pressure?)

it would be good to use a power steering resivour from a NA, as the TT resivoiur has a take-off for the Hicas.....

this is the TT resivour, as you can see i have blocked off the pipe on the right that used to go to the Hicas

I found the PAS pump from my shorty when i was up at my unit the night.

Gonna give stripping out the HICAS stage, a go tomorrow at work.

You can put a NA pump on a TT, and there are no alignment issues !

You need the NA Pump, NA Bracket and NA Pot and new 3rib belt.

The NA bracket ensures the pump fits in the correct position.

people do remove the HICAS solnoid from the engine bay,

id imagein the electrical wires go from the PAS ECU (footwell)

then the hicas oil pipes go to the back of the car.
