i want to get the boys a PS3 for crimbo but havent a clue which to get 40gb 60gb 80gb etc

obviously the one with the highest gb is gonna be better but is there any difference in gameplay etc or is it just down to how much you can save to the hard drive

any help appreciated

thanks in advance :)

There all the same, its just the memory. :)

Ive got the 60gb one and a new slim line 120gb one

The new ones are cheap and nasty tbh,

will have no impact on gameplay at all. If you play a large variety of games at a given time get the larger.

I'd go for an xbox 360 myself

they've got one already :)

but if you have a 60gb you can play most of the ps2 games on it if you wish

Why would you want to do that :wack:

Plus the 60gb die for some reason (yellow light of death) Ive just fixed mine.

I only found out you can fix them after i bought the new one :(

Very very dissapointed in the quality of the slim lines,

no point in getting a PS3 then:)

Agreed. only difference is Blueray DVD (£129 for a sony one in Blockbuster with 4 X DVD's free)

Also the rumour is they are gonna start charging for PSN

just get a very good gaming PC for them, wipes the floor on a ps3 and 360 hands down. plus they do a hell of a lot more. Plus, you can plug a xbox360 control pad in and away you go, (up to as many as you have usb ports for) and your not limited to how much harddrive space either, as with a PC the possibilities are endless, and you get the same games on both consoles available on PC but with better graphics. and you dont have to subscribe to xbox live with a PC to play online.

ive always been a playstation fanboy.......but went for the xbox 360.....if gran turismo had been released may have went for the playstation, but forza is just as amazing....wouldnt have both consoles...already have a standalone bluray player....

You could always buy another xbox 360. Im sure your boys will love playing against each other, as a team both online or private matches. Does mean you will need 2 copies of the game but as long as its not the latest release game the price drops quite quickly and you can pick them up on ebay cheap enough.

If you bought a PS3 they would never be able to play each other even if you bought the same games.

Just a thought! :)

if your going for a PS3 get a new slim one i agree they dont look as good but the older ones do have problems, we have had 2 go down and sony want paying to fix them. As for size, if your kids will downloads games or films over psn i would go for a big storage one as most PS3 games need installing to the hard drive

Ive got the 60gb, never had a problem. The build quality gets worse the cheaper they do them for

ive got the 80GB ps3 i believe. Fantastic and ive played xbox 360's they just dont compare to the ps3 IMO.

Always had playstations tho and i will never change even when im an old codger:D!

PS3 all they way.

The memory like the GB for them is basically for them downloading online say.....if they dont do that then its only used for saving there progress on there games.

So thinking on that a 40gb if they dont do all the d/l and stuff should be enough which will be the cheaper option also.

Then get the steering wheel and pedals for racing games.lol.

get any of them, when you run out of space just put a bigger disk in :) the destructions tell you how to do it :)
