My sisters are buying me a track day at Oulton Park for my crimbo prezzie :D

So i need a helmet. I may aswell buy one as if i like the whole tracking experience i'd like to do it more often and also i'm guessing i'm gonna need one for the Nurburgring in the summer time.

Only want summit cheap, can you get em for like £30? Recommendations please, with links if possible :)

You need to decide if you want a closed or open face mate, you can hire them for not alot of cash on the day, ranges between 10 and 30 quid but if you do several it soon mounts up!

I need to get one as well ive been told figures between 50 and 100 so thats the sort of ball park you'll need i think.

Well the Nitro ones someone mentioned above are only about £30, that sounds like it'll do the job. At the end of the day if get into it i can always get a better one further down the line.

Which is best? Closed or open? Which are you going for/prefer?

i used to own a shoei which set me back £350, was a lovely looking one too.

I could buy a zed for that

You seem like you'd be well up on this stuff Jimbo. Am i looking for a closed or open helmet?

yeah get an open one if your wanting to do alot of track days as then at least you can hear and talk to your passenger, with the closed ones they cover your mouth so talking is hard work. will be more comfortable and easier to see. I will protect your head, just be careful of ya chin lol

Just bare in mind that all rally drivers wear the open head helmets so dont worry bout feeling unsafe, if they are good enough for them they sure as hell are for you ;) closed helmets are mainly for bikes and open top vehicles ie caterhams formula ford F1 etc

Nah i'm with you mate, the open ones seem a much better idea for what i want.

Just been having a quick gander on ebay and i can't quite find one i like. I don't want shiny bits stuck to it, but then again i don't wanna look like a huge dildo  Not as much choice when you start looking at XXL but i'm fairly certain thats what i'll need in order for it to be comfortable.

Am gonna have to have a proper look at each one and maybe post up here for peoples opinions lol.

Go to a shop and try on all the sizes, see what size is best for you, then you know what size u need to buy on ebay, they are suppose to be tight so that they dont move around on ya head when you move it. xxl is actually massive lol.

I much prefer the open ones, ment to put that in my post but forgot LOL I ahd a closed one at Oulton last wednesday and HATED IT, it was like talking into a scafe all day. Couldnt breath properly or concentrate since my vision was half covered.
