The story.

Apologies its a bit long.

Just before we moved in last year we said to our new neighbours we want to put a 6' fence up,halfway down garden to make a private seating area at the bottom.

in a nutshell his wife loved the idea' you can do it all the way along tbh'(it was 'their' side fence i wanted to do+ pay for.

Any hoo, he went ballistic so often + so aggressively i had his face pushed into mine more than once + didnt respond, until deciding to fence ALL the way along now.

He promised never to speak to me.

he still does , to try to tell me what to do with the front garden/drive, or working on the car+ prattles on about my front fence,Which is annoying.

I have taken to saying 'its a nice day, go annoy someone else, although my mrs get uptight when he does it.

I even 'lost' some land by putting the new fence away from his falling down short fence.

He has now put his shed up resting on my fence, even cutting the top down to get his guttering under.

So.what do i do?

6. drill holes in his shed roof and or ivite to local mice/rat community to stay there lol

seriously police wont do sh%t as its a petty problem in there eyes. Id just look at his hates and for a while do as much as possible to annoy him and then say "have you had enough" do you want to be resonable now. Had this happen myself and it worked for me

Firstly just go over there and tell him to move it slightly as it is over your property. Anything that hangs over your property you can remove providing you give it to him, so hedge trimmings, branches, guttering etc.

Failing that remove the guttering and saw the overhanging bit of the shed off and throw it into his garden.

My local enviroment guy said if i cut any of his branches, i have to return them as they are his. But,if i throw them over the fence i am liable to prosecution for littering.Ho hum.

Feel sorry for you and your wife, must be horrible. At the end of the day your

home is your own private space, where you should feel relaxed and comfortable and not invaded. It would severely annoy me having a neighbour

like that and I could definately add more options to the poll ;)

If your a placid person and don't like stress,I'd start by putting a taller fence at front aswell and try to avoid contact.

Hope it settles down for you. By the way your neighbour sounds a right :xxx:

Let us know how you get on.

Placid? hmn.I do try to be easy going but i tend to er 'over respond' when anyone threatens me.Hence i've had to walk away from him more than once, as he gibbered about 'martial arts' puffing his chest out.

He's just a sad git in his 60's to me, i would be ashamed if he drove me to violence.

Although that said he has a history of threatening+ being really aggressive to other neighbours(had one in a choke hold over a equally petty matter).

That i wouldn't tolerate.

He's universally disliked, odd thing is his mrs is totally charming.

Yep,sounds like an awkward one mate, is he retired then ? Just wondering as it sounds like

he's got nothing better to do than think of ways to annoy people.

well....................... personally i think you should have a zed meet at your house and invite the lot of us and we'll all turn up and piss him off big time lol

I always thought something had to be into your garden by a certain distance before your allowed to touch it, if you want to stay stress free ignore him and the problem, if you really want to do something about either stay legal which will probably end up costing you money or get into a slanging match / fight, the last option usually makes you feel better for a short while but the problem a lot worse.

Thats just what you should do.

Massive BBQ in the summer. Then we can all park along the front of his hose but not blocking his drive. That will really pee him off.

As for the gutter. Its better than having loads of rain water flowing on to your plants or whatever ;)

open a tin of gloss paint, throw it through his front window, tell him too fook off or the lot will be done

As the fence is more on you side or the border due to you putting it there you still have land on the otherside where he as sat his shed .tell him you will charge him ground rent while his shed is sat on your land. But just think if he is a old fart he will be dead before you. My neighbours where a pain but i was lucky they both died within 24hrs of each other ............wierd.

you didnt dress up as the grim reaper did you and knock on their window lol

:)No i was never nasty to them honest just blanked them most of the time but since they have died I hear noises in my house im sure they are haunting me.

people have been murdered for lesser goings on. Im told a hammer is a good option.

don't start alan on hammers he's already started on the gloss paint

Thought i would take it up a notch:rofl:

The death card seem to be the best bet, invite him round for a cuppa and drop a bit of rat posion in his drink. if that fails let me know :x:

0r 7. Chin him

He has already gained some extra width on his garden, by not sorting his crappy fence out. I would give advice that im going to use the area next to his shed as a bonfire space, fook it you may loose a fence section but he will loose a shed.

Option 2.

Wait till he goes away for a couple of weeks in the summer, if he has a carpeted hallway, put a hosepipe through letterbox and wet the floor, then get a leafblower and fill it with watercress seeds, and shoot them into the hallway.

When he gets back, he wont be worried about the shed that is destroyed by your bonfire, just how is he going to use all that watercress that is now in full bloom in his house.

:duffer:

my neighbour always complains about the noise coming from my house wether its the car, car stereo, my little radio i use when working on the garden she always has something to say, even tried to come out and moan when my dad was round thinking he would make me do something about it we both just told her to shut up lol she has given up now though think she is sick of being told to f off. she picked the wrong corner to move into for noise though there are 5 houses on the corner and you have my car, number 19 with his scooby, and the two houses across the road with all the motorbikes hot days with us all working on them really pisses her off
