I've had differend opinions from "they're fine" to "front and rear must be replaced very soon".

Any ideas? There's a tiny lip on the front discs and an even smaller one on the back discs (barely there tbh).

Bloody hell! Thought you'd gone, never to return! Glad you're still about these parts!

As for the disks, fronts look ok. Sure, they have a lip (of which a percentage of that is corrosion anyway), but the actual contact surface is free from grooves and scoring. Rears certainly DO NOT need replacing.

Hey Si!

I pop in now and then in case you're having a funny turn and want to sell your car, then I can snap it up!

Thanks for the advice on the brakes. I think they're ok. They're the original discs and the car's done' 72,000 miles in ten years but I only use them if I'm driving hard. They don't seem as sharp as they used to though. Maybe it's contamination on the pads and I should whip them out and clean them or something?

Yes as Si said they look fine and wearing evenly, the shiney surface looks a bit glazed so as rub over with some glass paper would not hurt.

wasnt a fast fit place that told you they needed doing was it by any chance ??, "and by pure luck theres a special on discs and pads this week, only £1500 all in"

Only reason for changing those is if they are warped. Plenty of meat left on them.

Thanks for the advice gents.

I'll take the pads out, give them a clean up and maybe get some silicone grease on the pins at the same time.
