hey girls and guys, well i have started to strip the zx for its bodywork makeover. decided on the colour now but its top secret :tongue:

 

removed the rear spoiler which im replacing for a mid level one, which was on car-mads car., plus the side skirts are removed, so any offers on the removed items please pm me if interested.

Is that Cherry Red Pearl?

No Si its yamaha lava red, you have a silver base with a transparent red coat then the clear coat over that.

well did some more to the zed today.

masked all the shuts off then got all the doors,boot,bonnet back on ready to be wet flated down before paint.

well the re-paint has been put on hold for a bit due to the cold weather, but hopefully be painted tomorrow

yeah i hope so, i did all the trims in that colour too

now painted after a long day spraying it.

 

first step- apply silver base- took 3 coats to cover.

 

second step- apply red transparent top coat- took 3 good coats to cover nicely

 

third step- apply clear coat- took 3 and a bit coats

Obviously you dont have to be exact, just a ballpark figure as im getting several quotes at varying prices, depending on the amount of prep the guys need to do.

need to see the car to quote price, and whether its a change of colour like mine or a same colour repaint. Obviously to change colour doors,bonnet,bumpers and tailgate have to be removed to do proper job,so you could be looking around £3500 +, same colour repaint say £2500+ both subject to stripping.
