hey everyone i thought i would keep you all updated with my progress so far, as you can see the front is now stripped and inner arches removed.. the headlights are removed and what a fiddle they are, but managed to do it.

the front headlight panel is being replaced, managed to locate a stock one so the after-market panel i had fitted to the vehicle, is available for sale if anyone is interested- just pm me.

door cards are being stripped today, so hopefully all goes well and the little clips all stay in one piece- fingers crossed.

thats better not sure what happend but these are the pics. thanks

That's a lot of overspray on the engine under tray!

Glad you're going for the stock/smooth nose panel. Nothing else works as well styling wise IMO. :)

yeah looks like its been painted at some point, not a very good job done.. wont look like that after we finished with it. the stock front panel i think looks better in my opinion too.

trying to locate a different front, i like the 99 spec bumper.

Sounds good. Beauty of the OE type bumpers is they match the rest of the car (unlike most aftermarket ones) and fit correctly...and aren't made of GRP! Best way is to stick along those routes and/or bumper extensions. :)

yeah i agree. the looks have totally changed now i removed the sideskirts so there not going on again. thanks for the input si

Are you planning on doing a engine rebuild?

As i have loads.... aftermarket parts for sale.

  • Author

no jaffa, no engine rebuilds at the moment but thanks for offer. Engine has HKS induction, turbo timer, apexi boost controller, engine seems to pull quite well..

more work has been done since the last thread, removed all doors, tailgate, bonnet ready to be primed, after we stripped them.

had a couple of minor repairs to body, nothing to drastic.

Cannot wait to see this finished. Its going to look stunning. Do you want to buy my bumper £500 :D

Wow, great work can't wait to see more progress on this. Nice to see you're taking the time to do a proper job stripping it all the way back!

well as im changing the colour, i dont want to see the old colour in the shuts when i open the doors and boot, so its the best way. no thanks i got a bumper, hopefully should be here wednesday.

It,s looking good Rob , when i did mine i decided to change the style of the repeaters to get rid of the large chunky nissan ones , modded the holes and fitted Vauxhall Astra ones , i think it looks more modern :dance:
