Hi There - Me again!!

I am upping my wheels from stock to these -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-BLACK-SHARK-ALLOY-WHEELS-NISSAN-300ZX-TYRES_W0QQitemZ110451861672QQcategoryZ28648QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D11%26ps%3D63#ht_5550wt_941

The wheels are 8.5 inches on the front and 9.5 on the rear. The tyre sizes they are offering are 235/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear. I also want to fit a set of Eibach progressive lowering springs front and rear.

Will this tyre and wheel combination fit a JDM '92 LWB without rubbing or rolling the arches? Don't want to order these to find they rub like crazy!!

Many thanks in advance - :hyper: -Cyrus

Should sit nicely chap, How much are you lowering the car by?

Personally would go 245 and 275 respectively. You'll get stretch with those tyres rather than a nice flush tyre wall.

i dont think those alloys are that nice to be honest, think theres better ones out there available that will look nicer on the zed.

I like them, bet you know where some nice ones are going hay Craig.

Might be able to save you some cash here. I bought my wheels and tyres from this seller and if you phone them rather than buy through Ebay they will do you a discount. I used the discount to upgrade the tyre size. Must be worth a try mate

I didnt mean that to come across like that mate, was just saying i dont think the are as nice as some wheels out there.

Not trying to sell anythign on other peoples threads i created a thread for my stuff and if the chap wants to look at it then fair enough:D!

Would the side wall percentages still be ok FunkySi at these new widths? Or would you suggest altering them?

:(

Did they still mail them to you or did you have to collect them Mackam?

They do look like a bit of a bargain until you realise its £119 minimum for shipping (up to £230) + tyres + balancing + Skimming (because they are kerbed to buggery!) + polishing + an EIGHT WEEK WAIT FOR THE RIMS!!! + the alloy is pitted which means they have been treated like crap etc etc etc.

All of a sudden not such a good proposition.

...... oh yeah, and I dont like the way they look (laugh)

Still a bargain. Those wheels are about £4k with tyres. There is no pitting on the alloy, just some light kerbing that can be 'easily' repaired. They look better than the ones you seem to like. :wack:

Sorry FunkySi - Just don't like 'em - guess it's me who's the crazy one :( because everybody else seems to think they're great!!

Wife would have my nuts if she knew what I had spent on the car this month already so I am not going to blow a wad on alloys I have not been able to see and that still need further work.

To be honest I really really like the alloys on your car - do you mind me asking what they are?

Each to his own I guess!

The wheels you're looking at are nice, think that an anthracite centre would be more appealing. Unfortunately Wolfrace wheels are like chocolate. There is a reason why 4 wheels and 4 tyres only cost £600.

Thank you very much. My wheels are Advan Siena Generation II. Not available anymore I don't think, but were sold up until a few years ago. Pretty expensive 3 piece forged wheels. I think a set were somewhere around the £2.5k - £3k mark.

I think if I ever go 'epic' on my car, I'll be sorting myself out some 19" BBS LM.

LM.

Are they really that bad? Is the alloy that soft?

I was looking at a black centre simply to match the car which is black.

I would appreciate your opinion on these:

What do you think?

Well they aren't brilliant. Not bad, but are cheap cast monoblock. I'm always dubious about Wolfrace/TSW/Team Dyniamics type wheels.

OZ on the other hand are pretty reasonable quality and that's a funky wheel IMO. Won't be cheap, but it looks good.

Unfortunately with black, you loose definition. They can look good on black cars, MadMarco's car looks good. But generally, nice bright silver gives a really clean/slick look to the car.
