Tonight I planned on taking out the washer bottle and motor and giving them a good clean/overhaul as there seems to be a lot of stuff clogging up the washer jets.

Was planning on following this (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=69450) guide but am stuck at the first bloody hurdle... getting the wheel off!!!

The locking nuts are refusing to undo (This is the first car I've had with locking wheel nuts; you just put the 'key' on and undo them like a normal nut, right?).

Anyone got any tips for undoing them, as they're stuck so tight I even managed to bend the wrench!

I'm gonna hope that this isn't a case of me just being a retard, resulting in much hilarity at my expense...

your not the first and will certainly not be the last to stick there. :smash:

Your question is neither lame, nor embarrasing. The stupid questions are the ones we didnt ask !

Guessing that they have been put on with an impact wrench, so they will be very tight. If the special anti-theft key is still intact and not broken yet, try applying force to loosen the lock-nut and while you have the wrench on it, under force, have an accomplice give it a sharp whack with a hammer, directed at the actual nut/key. Take care not to hit the wheel.

This normally does the trick.

Failing that, a decent 24" breaker bar should shift it.

Good luck mate,

Cheers everyone, will hopefully get a chance to have another crack at it over the weekend and will report back!

if it still doesn't come out... get an impact gun and blast it off (This will destroy the Locking nut) but you can always replace them :)

If that is needed DONT go to Halfrauds or Kwik fit as they will hit you with 50quid a tyre and thats all they do!

Go to a lower end place and they didnt even charge me for it and gave me some new Tyre Valves :)

in return they had my business for the next set of tyres i needed so everybody Won
