Ok I've tried the grease in the hole and a hammer with a tight fitting metal bar, no go.

Tried the hacksaw blade technique, and it wont even bite into it.

how the hell do you get this damn thing to shift, btw its the auto bushing im on about here, not that tiny little coppery thing for the manual.

JEFFFFFTTTTT HEEEELLLPPP MEEEE lol

Does anyone do a tool for the removal and if so where can one purchase it as google has come up blank? this is the only thing stopping me from completing the engine swap as im not sure i can even put the gear box back on with the auto one in place, and even if i did put the gear box back on, im not even sure what role this bushing plays in the running of the gear box....

Anyone got any hints and tips, please bare in mind, my tools got stolen so im now limited to what i can use.

Before i got my bearing puller i used a sharp chisel each side. This got my dads out years ago on his first zed without any damage.

Agree with Jimmer, a sharp chisel or a screwdriver, try and not dig into the crank but by getting a start under the bushing it is quite soft and will collapse inwards, eventually becoming loose enough to be removed in a few parts sometimes.

Great minds and all that :D

i tried all that, couldn't shift it, probably due to being lay on my back with not much clearance, so i drilled a couple of careful holes in it, (careful not to go all the way through and drill into the crank) and then collapsed it inwards with the trusty hammer and chisel.... Then danced around my garage for a few minutes :-)

Think im going to be the same once it comes out, taken me 4 days so far and haven't managed to get it to shift, dent or anything really.

A smart chisel angled from the edge outside that is about 3mm from the edge and tap and they do then move and pop out working each side as you go.

aaarrggghhh!!!!!, god this thing is p'ssing me off, tried a slide hammer today, still wouldn't budge, tried the hammer and chisel, might have to try again with that once I've sharpened the chisel.

Even tried tissue that had been used to soak up gear box oil spill, with a bolt and washer, all that did was cover me in slime and tissue lol

This thing is stuck in solid, hasn't even moved a micrometre

be careful to only remove the bush and not start chiseling into the actual crank as one member did on here a couple of years ago:wack:

wasnt me but i will try and find the thread.

What would be the danger involved if i just put the manual gear box bushing in, with the autogear box bushing still in, would i even be able to mount the clutch / gear box with both present?

As from what i understand, the bushing is just there as a guide. or would that just totally screw things up, i need to get this gear box mounted.

pm jefftt your contact details and i will give you a bell to sort something out for you
