I've got some EBC Red stuff pads on mine - they are quite new but have excellent anti-fade characterstics. They work like OEM when cold but under hard braking you can feel them grip more and more. I have used OEM and didnt rate them, PAGID ones which where OK but spewed brake dust all over the shop, and cheap Lucas pads - avoid them like the palgue! A few people have mentioned Porterfield pads as being good. Prices anywhere betwen £75 - £150 for decent ones, but shop around as prices can vary. Gazmo can get ones for the 300 as they are the same as the Skyline R32 I got my PAGID and EBC pads from Middlehurst.

Axxis metal matrix, cheap and very good with stock discs (IMO)

I got the MM's from Phuong Tao at GR-racing for $37 a set (www.eatricezone.com)

Can we have a recommendation for good pads that don't eat the discs. I heard (I think) that the EBC Greens were OK, but I would be mistaken.

Thanks guys,

I think I will go with the EBC as was after good cold and hot performance and mine are squealing like pigs with Foot and Mouth and need replacing urgently!!Guess it takes a while for the imported units to arrive.

Cheers

The EBC ones reportedly have low brake dust emission ( true so far) and low disc wear - dunno about that yet!!!

I've been using Porterfield R4S for a couple of years which I get from Silvia Engineering. I tend to be quite hard on brakes and had serious overheating problems with Nissan ones.

Craig imported a set from the states because it seemed cheaper but by the time he'd paid taxes & shipping it worked out pretty much the same - about £120.

I have no experience of the EBCs (except that I have green stuff EBC pads on my mountain bike!) so I can't make a comparison.

Have now heard from Middlehurst that EBC Red's are a good choice for the 300.The Green's are for lighter cars (hot hatch)upto about 2 litre/150BHP.

Hello people !! I was thinking today about my drive shaft ! May it was the superior stopping power provided by my EBC green pads that snapped my drive shaft !?! By the way Bilky I have now ditched the yellow Micra for a Primera diesel Turbo !! Closest I'll get to a 300 I feel.

I have the portefield carbon kevlar pads front & rear supplied by SE with DOT 5.1 brake fluid. These fit standard calipers.

Fitted myself and works well. Have had no brake fade yet stopping from 120+ down to 30 cool ;-)

Have been on car 14k miles and still stopping.

Eddie ;-)
