Just to let folks know, I have just popped a UK spec cruise control ECU into my Jap spec car and it has remove the silly 68mph cruise limit.

It now cruises at a minimum of 30mph upto a max of 105mph!

A real easy swap and IMO well worth doing. Just done a 50mile round trip and cruising at 80 is so much better.

Cost me £15

Only thing to watch out for is getting the right replacement box.

There are 2 types, a 89-92 Ecu & a 93+

One is a 16pin connection, the other is a 20pin connection, the latter is the later box.

Hope this is helpful to someone:)

If you do a search around there is a mod to alter the jap cruise ecu to make it do whatever you want. Its a case of replacing resisters IIRC. :)

Very useful information, thanks guys :)

Yes - I know that. I looked at the old Jap ECU & attempted to remove the resistors. On the 93+ECU (which I have) -they are so small, this task needs proper patience and comes with a high risk of knackering it anyway.

My advice - £10/15 - get one from a UK breaker!:duffer:

Where is the Cruise control ECU located please anyone :detective:

Passenger footwell under carpet and board. Beneath the Main ECU. Labelled ASCD
