I'd agree with that......

 

.......in times of recession one may expect robbery/burglary/general theft to increase. It may well increase slightly (as with crime in general) but if occurrences aren't increasing; then the great media gods will simply report as many cases of robbery as they can to give the impression it's on the rise:x:

 

That also gives insurers an excuse to raise premiums on account of the "higher risk"

very true, even my dog isnt allowed to attack an intruder in my own home. :confused:

Burglary was actually reducing this time last year according to the official stats, attributable to an increase in high-tech security setups. Won't be too long until we gladly install the 'last mile' of surveillance infrastructure ... lol :(

I keep a small weights bar (with the screw-clamp attached) under the bed and a sword in the hall just in case - a throw-back from when I lived in East London:rofl:

 

Touch wood; I haven't had any call to use either of them - but then I live in a nice part of semi-rural Buckinghamshire nowadays;)
