Tasked with fitting a missing fan shroud the radiator top hose was removed but unfortunately instead of a nice water/ antifreeze mix running out this is what did, got to say it does not look good eh?

Yes, common fault with top hose outlet breaking up, new side header are available but some bigger issues to worry about unfortunately.

When emptying my knackered engine, i have the same kinda thing from the rad, washed the rad through and it looks like rust once the water starts clearing, i also have what looks like rust on the old water inlet outlet pipes leading to the engine.

 

Cept, the coolant mix coming out the bottom of the rad when first emptying was a nice fluorescent green color (looked like predator blood to start with lol) then turned a nice rusty/chocolate brown)

The photo`s do not really show but its oil and water mixed slippy a hell and smells of burnt oil.

Not sure of current price exactly but last one was around £50+ vat per header, they come with a new rubber gasket and its a case of bending the retaining tags back and replacing the header and gasket and then bending the tags back.

Part number is 21412-40POO for the Tank Rad Upper (Nissan name for it)

Part number is 21412E for the seal.

Only because a guy i know has his Zed sitting on his drive because the rad has broken and moneys a bit tight for him atm. This could be some good news for him.
