Hi,

As you may recall I am building a top mounted fuel rail feeding top feed injectors - so when I bin the stock fuel rail I will lose the mount point for the stock Fuel Temp Sensor. I believe the 300Degree rail has a hole on each rail for the OEM temp sensor to be re-used - but I have also read a few Aussie and USA posts that say they have deleted it when changing rails!!!! :xxx:

I could mount the temp sensor back on the new rail - or more conveniently maybe on the 'Y' splitter block to the parallel rail feeds!

Or - if advantageous - anywhere else?!?!

What's the best solution chaps? Any feelings?

No Sensor/bad sensor wouldl create a P0180 code and probably an Engine Check red light on the dash right?

are you sticking with the stock ECU. i know the AEM does'nt use the fuel temp sensor so other after market ECU's might not either.

if you do need the sensor, i think as close to the rail as possible. like you said, in the Y peice would be a good location

Hi Matey - stock ECU for now - but JD chip - do you think he (JD) could prog it out in the CHIP in some way? Any advantage/disadvantage?

The 'Y' splitter is currently going to be on the wheel arch so maybe not a good place. Me thinks I may have to drill the new rail and mount it as near to where it was before! But then thats only really measuring the temp of 1 bank of cylinders - Hmmmmmm

not sure on how the stock ECU would work with that, best speak to the JD man for that.

the stock rail only has a temp reading from one bank anyway. i cant see the temp being too different if at all between banks.

have you got any pics of the rail you will be using?

..just a thought as I move to a Parallel feed system - might be good to measure the fuel temp in each rail ;-))

would be good to get a reading from both rails. you never know, there might be a way of setting the ECU to read two sensors just like if you fit two MAF's.

would be good to see some pics, i'm very interested in this :)

Apparently matey there is no ref to the fuel temp sensor (standard ECU - JD Chip) other than related to the PRVR - which I have already deleted.

So if the opportunity arises I think I may attach it to the 'Y' Splitter box and/or just ground/add resistor and delete it out of the engine bay

I hope that helps anyone taking the same path...
