just bought a set of series 2 uk clocks for my jdm. Is it ok just to change them or will it interfere with hicas / cruise and do I also need to change the controls for them too?

cheers

You could get a UK cruise ecu from JeffTT, that would lift the max speed limit it will set at.

Fitting uk clocks will read in mph, the oddometer still reads in kph, wont affect your hicas/power steering, but also worth at some point having a chipped ecu fitted to tie everything together nicely

the oddometer still reads in kph

Are you 100% on this as I can get 240miles to a tank surely if this was km that would be something like 150 miles on 70 litres of fuel.

Mine still seems to read in kph for some reason, it certainly clocks quicker than miles would, so no cant be 100% in all cases, just what ive found on mine.

I though the odemeter would be ok as its the whole cluster of dials i'm changing not just the one speedo clock is a jdm speed sensor the same as a uk one or whatever they're called. Hope it'll be ok as I'd like to keep the mileage more or less correct. ecu's been done by danny dta

i just changed a speedo on the missus pug, k/m to mph had to cannabalize as the k/m had a chip for the odeometer was just a case of swapping that part,so they may have something similar going on

anyone else had probs with uk clocks still clocking in km too and managed to sort it

Fitted many UK spec speedo clusters to imports and never had a problem, without any modifications the speedo and odometer should read in miles.

The only odd thing when fitting a UK spec to an import is the speed gong sounder tends to give a single bong when coming to a halt?

Yes mine did this but you just disconnect the green/yellow wire and it stops the bonging.

cool cheers for that I think my speedo bong thing has been disconnected as it's bongless the only bong is the key in the ignition bong which is very annoying when doing stuff

Road tested today after fitting them about 3 weeks ago as the weather has been crap.Cruise works properly, Odometer reads in miles and no bong thingy either so all is fine. Another job I've actually managed to do on the zed myself succesfully so am pleased with myself today :)

changed mine last week, just put clocks in plug in and go,nothing else needed cheers pat:dance:

Found out why mine was reading in kph:smash:

The uk clocks: odometer has a blue cog

Jap : " " black cog

So the Uk clocks i got from Paul at swz must have just had the speedo dial and board changed :nono:

It wasnt until Bigman pointed this out to me

Now sorted:nana2:

Yes, the only thing different was the odometer, dont know why though, unless the original one didnt work and got replaced with a jap one

There is another thing..on the back you`ll see a screw near the top with either a 10k 0r 100k option if memory serves, the uk uses the 10k, jap from what i`ve seen uses the other one. These go directly into the speedo unit/board, so if cannibalizing watch out for this, i`m pretty sure it affects the mph/km reading.
