which wire is which?

I just removed the original speakers (90 jap tt import) to swap speakers.

The plug has obviously blown or something in the past (see pic) The black housing clip of the wires had no indication as to positive/negative I removed the plastic leaving two wires (other pic) They don't really have much of a colour distinction either (both a burnt brown!)

Question is how do i know which is which? I want to connect new speakers without breaking anything

Anyone know how i can tell?

Right - the two wires do have a bit of colour distinction:

the one with the copper end is brown/black

the one with the silver end is just a lighter brown.

Well i took off the other door card and removed the speaker - and that one had not blown so i could see the positive/negative markers.

Just for those who may be interested it was the brown and black wire which was positive.

New speakers in - sounds much better, i can actually turn the tunes up now..:hyper::dance::hyper::dance:
