Hi All

I just got hold of some 18 inch 8/9 J staggered wheels for my Z.

They are ET 45 all round and I am fitting them on a standard height car for now but am planning on lowering the car soon.

Current thoughts are

front 20mm Hub centric spacers for the front with 225/35/18 tyres

rear 15mm hub centric spacers for the rear with 265/35/18 tyres.

does this seem about right or do you think I could get a wider spacer on the front running a 225 tyre?

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

careful what height you lower your car too, the zed is already lower than most standard cars, mines been lowered by 40mm all around and im having difficulties doing certain things on it, not helped by the fact i need to replace an engine and can only get a trolley jack under it with two people lifting the car either side using the wheel arches (that im not pleased about), So i might even have to raise it slightly just so i can work on it more comfortably.

the fronts should be 40 profile

I would also go with 235's for the fronts

With regards to spacers yes your about right to bring them out but tbh i would rather try to get some without spacers if you can?

I would run it up on some wood first to get the jack under, better than lifting it up by the front wings.

Get yourself a low profile jack! They are only £75 off ebay...and work a treat on extremely low cars!!!

Or as 300_zedx said...drive it up on some bits of wood 1st. There was a thread on here somewhere about a member making some ramps out of scaffold planks, or similar...perfect for getting it up to a height so you can get a normal jack under it.
