Only place that will give me a quote is tesco! and they will only insure me if i have a cat 1 alarm which is okay but they also want me to fit a tracker system! which i am not prepared to pay for cause the insurance is high enough!! i am 21 i got full no claims bonus, i just want to insure a 300zx non turbo jap spec. please help

I thought full NCB was 5 years.

Jap cars are more expensive to insure. A Jap non-turbo is dearer to insure than a UK Turbo.

Try

Firebond

I did find a company called Livingstones on the web with reasonable quote but didn't like the mods so went for Norwich Union.

Insurance very high at moment. Mine went up since last year.

My insurance renewal this year was hard work too, for my 91 zxTT Jap import I foudn the best quotes were from:

www.elephant.co.uk is cheapast but you have to pay the premium up front, no instalments.

Osborne & Co 0208-388-6000

To be honest I found it saved me money to put on a tracker in the end, as without it all the mods made the insurance over £1,500. Putting the tracker on my car got the quote including the monthly premium surcharge down to £1,050.

I never tried Tesco's, but will next year for sure.

Norwich Union Direct were best for me - www.norwichunion.co.uk (surprisingly!). No tracker, no alarm required - slight reduction for a Cat 1 but only if it's one they specify - check first (Scorpion's ain't covered :-

egg.co.uk are worth a try as are Elephant.co.uk.

Cheers

I insured my 300zx with Harrington Adams in London. They are an old school insurance broker who phones around the market on your behalf and don't just do what the computer screen tells them!!! Steve Harrington is the man to talk to,if you do call him say Paul Howell with the 300zx gave you the number and he should sort you out a slightly better deal than usual as i kind of arranged a deal with him for people i know!!!!The number is 0207 377 5850

Hope this helps

Just been having a ferret around the Livingstones site (http://www.livingstones-insurance.co.uk/) and it would appear that they specialise in certain types of car, including schemes for Nissan Twin Turbo and the Z Club! Well if the Z Club gets a discount then thay may be an easy way in for us. I know there was much talk in the past about club schemes and discounts etc, well there could be a ready made one for us here. Z Club membership is about £25 per anum. Anyone belong who knows whether they get other discounts too ?

thank you all for helping, i will try my best to get insured, thanks for the offer paul, i will have to do that.

I've just renewed my insurance with The Insurance Factory in Birmingham 0870 777 8181

It cost me £499 fully comp on a limited mile (5000 pa)policy with mods (Exhaust & Filter) declared. I'm 28 with 8 years NCB living in Staines, Middx. The only condition is that i don't use it for commuting.
