I'm talking 1/4 mile now :D

Why is it that the 300zx struggles to get into the high 12's doing the 1/4 mile when a stage 1 supra ie around 1 bar of boost on oem turbos can get into the 11's?

Both similar power, both similar weights, both RWD

Very interested when I saw this post, very much doubt theres much stage one about that Supra.... To make a sub 12 run especially if that WAS at Santa Pod!!

Mighty impressed to say the least if it is inded on stock twintubs!! He does have a lower trap speed so must be good in the launch and good gearing/changes.

My Brother has a Big Single (mk4) Supra, and it's currently making making 661bhp (Fly) @ 20psi, his best time @ Pod (though with few boosting issues) so far is 12.1 on road tyres -Don't get me wrong he will get those sub 12's when the boost problem is fixed and more so on drag radials But here is his spec sheet and it's far from stage one!!

it is (not in looks by a long way) because toyota had the zed to work from without the zed the supra wouldn't have been the car it is, this is a know fact and is stated in many write ups

i dont think that is correct,

the Z has been around since the 60s,

and the Supra has been around for quite some time aswel! not just the mark4/JZA80 vs the Z32,

the supra has developed itself for about 20 years, (when they used to call it the celica supra)

djpone is correct, the Supra Mk4 release was pushed back a few years when the Z32 hit the market.
