Ive just had to replace my front tyres because they scrubbed themselves bald on the inside.

so i ask the guy to do a 4 wheel laser alignment to stop this happening again and he tells me that he cant do it because the front bumper is to low, so the beam hits the bumper and stops there. I tried to other places and got the same reply.

Now I only have a standard bumper and im not lowered.

anyone else had this problem and if so how did you sort it out.

I don't fancy putting another pair on to soon.

I had mine done at Elite in Rainham Essex no problem.

I have a 90 300ZXTT Import also.

I took mine to Mike at MJP They did a 4 Wheel Alignment & wheel balancing.

I think the alignment was about £25..

Jan..

I have a lowered car and that caused problems at my local garage because they used a non-laser system that has to slide under the front.

I took it to Alba Tyres who have a chain of garages (not sure if they are in the south) and they sorted mine out for £24.00

I had the same problem. Mine were so far out the wear was almost on the sidewall of the tyre and had gone down to the metal, tread untouched! Couldn't see it until I took the wheels off to change my rear pads. Had to bin half worn Bridgestones. Ouch!

i had mine done at a tyre place in southfields, south west london.

mine is lowered, which was a bit of a scrape getting onto the ramp, but other than that, they were able to do full alignment no problem.

i also got my s02's there, for 540 for all four, alignment was 40 i think

Thanks Guys, I should have known to go to elite's, thats where I got the Tyres. Der brain.

I popped in to Extreme in Harlow today to check out how much for a proper (caster, camber, tracking) 4 wheel alignment. The guy tells me £20 odd for tracking, sets the car up on a laser system and shows me what needs doing. Now he says Front tracking, rear Tracking, front camber(£30 odd), rear camber that'll be £117 total, I don't think I'll be having that done, goodbye.

Must be cheaper than new tyres????

Elite charge about £50 odd inc vat.

Got email from Mike at MJP last night. Apparantely he doesn't do the alignment himself, but he has a friendly tyre dealer locally who knows his stuff. Doesn't sound like a 300 specialist though as he reckons the HICAS may confuse them !

I had all four done for £58 inc vat which was all lasered and electronic, amazing what it picked up mind. This was at Nissan Epsom (Wilsons). They have been brilliant.

Trouble is you never know how ggod they are until your tyres are half worn !

Imperial Tyres in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Between £42 and £47 for a complete electronic alignment with FULL adjustments (no hidden costs) and printout before and after. I have arranged a 10% discount with them for all 300ZX forum members.

They can cater for any car no matter how low. They seem to be the leading place in Wiltshire and they know what they are doing.
