any one had one fail.

think mine are the originals (they are black) and my car is running rich on boost.

could it be that as soon as the car stops using the o2 sensors it then over fuels?

the car has a slight rythmical lumpiness (not a missfire) on idle that you can also hear as a slight pop in the exhaust

if i raise the revs a bit the engine is very smooth.

It could be the cause. I'm not an expert on this so let some of the other guys on here advise you on this. If it is the cause of your problem then I have a perfect one in working order that I can send you straight away.

Let me know by PM.

Andy

sounds to me like it could be one of a few things, o2 sensor would be the first thing to check, boost leaks would also cause this

The default setting in the ecu when it fails to read the o2 sensor will be to run rich.Have you been told its too rich by someone? I would not expect it to cause lumpy idle though.

Edited by jimmer

mines running a bit rich, it does have a lumpy idle but you can hear a faint popping on idle through the exhaust so mines over fueling a little but i do have a big leak on mine and possibly a lazy o2 sensor as well LOL

i dont have any boost leaks. i sorted them all a while ago.

i had the car on consult last week and jeff said it was all ok. i noticed the o2 readings were 0.2v and 0.3v almost continuously. id be supprised if it were these causing the rich running as they do not effect the running of the car at higher rpm and load.

nobody has specifically told me the car is running rich but from my experience it smells like a car running rich and sometime when its dark you can see a little mist in the headlights behind when you put your foot down.

my idle isnt really lumpy you can just feel as kirbz says " a slight popping from the exhaust"

admittidly im very fussy about this sort of thing and most would not even notice.

what would you expect the o2 values to be on idle?

thanks

replaced the fpr and it seems to have made a difference.

its not overfueling as bad as it did and the power is consistant.

i still have a slight popping at idle and a bit of overfueling.

i might have to have a look at the o2 sensors now.

also going to do a plenum pull and a egr removal soon

My FPR failed and I was told that they usually leak fuel into the vacuum side. When I removed the vac hose while it was running there was a little bit of fuel there. Replaced the FPR and all was well.'
