I need help, some dingbat has gone and broken my aerial - i still have it but it is completely removed from the car and the metal has snapped off completely.

How hard is it to replace old with new? someone told me that i'd have to chase the cable all the way back to the head unit!!! this doesn't sound right to me as the motor still works - i can hear it going when you switch the engine off.

Help me please guys

There is a multiplug and an arial plug so you dont have to feed it back to the head unit.

Its held in by a bolt or 2 been a while, at the bottom of the motor and of course its connected to the hole cover the arial goes through, half hour job tops.

Need to remov e a fair bit of trim & tool-box in base of boot but a straightforward job. Make sure drain hole is clear while you are at it.

Like above, you need to remove the trim corner piece and the tool kit holder.

Then there is one screw on the inside at the top, this releases the round cover on the outside.

When the cover is removed, you'll see two screws which will release the round housing on the inside.

Unplug the electrical connections and undo the screws which secure the motor.

A little bit of fiddling later, and HEY PRESTO....you're aerial is out.

Then do the same in reverse to fit it's replacement ;)

Guys that is most helpfull, I will give it a go, and if it all goes horribly wrong, then i can take it to someone who knows more than me to fix my muck up.:mac1:

Whoever you take it to you should get a good reception!!!!

 :slap:

reminds me of a joke,

"DID you hear about the two aerials that got married? The wedding was awful but the reception was fantastic!"

Groan...

its almost as bad as the one about the car jump lead who goes into a bar asking for a pint, and the barman replies, "I'll only serve you if you promise not to start anything.."

Exactly!!

I did mine in 1/2 an hour - the most time consuming part is removing/refitting the boot trim. Once you get the panels out, it's easy to follow what to do.

Also remember to connect the rubber gromet for the drainage tube to ensure that excess water flows out under the boot and not inside your rear wing;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
