Hi my names Nick and i'm just popping over from the SXOC as i have a few questions i need help with, if you don't mind.

I am about to start on a new project and need help with my front suspension setup options. I have been informed that the Z uses twin wishbone front susp which would help me massively as i won't be able to use a Mcpherson strut setup on my truck as i won't have the room, and will also help me get the correct pcd for my wheels.

Has anyone got a pic of the front suspension on a car without a wheel so i can hopefully see if it will be of any use to me?

Sorry if non of this makes sense......

Hi mate welcome to the site.

There are wishbones on the rear but not the front. I dont have a clue what the set up is on the front?? Its not wish bones and its not the Mcpherson set up either (i think lol!!) :wack:

welcome over buddy,

Thanks for all the welcomes chaps.

So i can see that the bottom arms are very similar to my 180sx Setup but i'm a little confused by the top 'arm'. Is there a ball joint on the top of the hub or is it at the top of that long cast silver thing i can see in the pic below?

and... well, this one obvious ;)

Actually looking at the pic again is it some kind of spherical bearing between the hub and the cast arm?

The shock mount on the hub looks useful as i shall be using Short coilovers with an eyelet top and bottom.

How does the rack attach to the hub? is it infront or behind like my 180?

what's the setup going on?

A good question..... it's going on a Nissan D21 drift truck with a full custom chassis. My chassis man wants to use the D21 hubs with some custom arms but i'm trying to figure out if i can use something more standard for when i inevitably bend something and need to replace it.

hi mate.

i am a long term sxoc member aswell. ive looked into fitting the 300 front suspension onto my 200 project but i have given up on that idea. it can be done as ive seen a rb 4wd conversion done. you will need to seriously beef up the mounting point for the upper link though. the strut on the front only takes the spring loading though so it is effectivly a double wishbone setup.

if you are stuck with this i have both a 300 and a 200 (which is a bare shell at the moment you are not too far from me so pop over.

not been on the sxoc for a while as fixing the 300 has consumed all my time of late. that will change soon though hopfully so i can get on with the project
